Incubation Management Training Program (2023)

SIDBI under its Cluster Intervention Program organised a “3 Day of Incubation Management Training Program” from 4th – 6th January  in association with Indian STEP & Business Incubator Association (ISBA) and experts from leading Incubators of India for 25 Incubator Managers of Delhi NCR region. The program was designed to provide a practical experience to the participants in incubation management, adoption of best practices, know-how on securing funding, aspects of pre-incubation, incubation, and acceleration of startups, and entrepreneurs.

The sessions were led by 1) Dr. K Suresh Kumar, Executive Director, PSG-STEP, ISBA; 2) Mr. Prasad Menon, CEO, Centre for Incubation & Business Acceleration, Mumbai & Vice-President, (ISBA) 3) Dr Lakshmi Jagannathan, CEO, DERBI Foundation, Bangalore; and 4) Dr Divya Rajput, CEO, JSS-STEP, Noida

Some of the topics covered during the 3-day training program were:

  • Managing an Incubation Centre
  • Incubation Processes and Systems
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Sustainability of the Incubation Centre
  • Financing for Incubatees

Through this program, the participating incubator managers received knowledge of planning and operating tools, equipping them to run and manage their incubators more efficiently leading to the strengthening of their incubators, and the promotion of their business activities.

Investment Management Training Program

SIDBI under its Cluster Intervention Program organised a 3 Day Investment Management Training Program for Incubator CEOs and Managers from 15th to 17th November 2022 in association with Indian Academy of Venture Capital (IAVC) and Indian STEPs and Business Incubator Association (ISBA). The training sessions were led by Mr. Vikrant Potnis, Founder, IAVC and Fundenable and Dr. Dhurv Nath, Director, Lead Angels Network.

During the training, 27 participants nominated from 23 Incubators of Delhi NCR region got an opportunity to learn about investment strategies, term sheet, startup valuation, raising capital, exit strategies, shareholding structuring, post funding compliance and various clauses applicable for investments through incubators and study a CCPS and a CCD term sheet

The participants also got an access to Indian Academy of Venture Capital’s (IAVC) toolkit consisting of 12+ online courses on business plans, financial modeling, crowdfunding, etc. and 20+ tools & templates for pitch decks, due diligence checklists, agreements, cap tables, etc. in addition to the program presentations, case studies and worksheet formats.

At the end of the training session the Incubator CEO’s and Managers were better equipped to evaluate their startups, setup evaluation criteria, negotiate on valuation, monitor their startups through MIS dashboards, explain post funding compliance to CA’s and CS, and create deal structures like CCPS, CCDs etc to invest in startups through NIDHI-SSP, SISF etc.
