Capacity Building Training Program for Incubator Managers

Under the SIDBI(Small Industries Development Bank of India), a transformative 3-day Capacity Building Training program for Incubator Managers was conducted in collaboration with Indian STEPs and Business Incubators Association (ISBA). The program kicked off with a workshop on implementing a mentoring program at incubation centres, featuring insights from Dr. Suresh Kumar, President ISBA; Dr. A Balachandran, Vice President ISBA; and Mr. Ashish Garde, Member of the Governing Body, ISBA. The participants, comprising of the managers from the incubation centres of Delhi-NCR region learned how to create effective mentoring programs from multiple perspectives.

Emphasizing the significance of financial sustainability of the incubation centres, Mr. Prasad Shetty, VP- Portfolio & Operations at SINE, IIT Bombay detailed the alternative financing sources and deals for incubators and their clients.

The program inculded a session on setting up virtual services by Ms. Gladis Nair exploring virtual incubation models to expand service offerings of incubators. Dr. Reema Sahni Mediratta, Head, ITTO at IIT Delhi, delved into technology commercialization through incubation, guiding attendees on tech transfer during pre-incubation and growth phases. Mr. RS Krishnaswamy, CSR Consultant & Founder of CSR Spark, discussed CSR compliances and partnerships, helping participants attract impactful CSR projects and ensure compliance.

The program concluded with an engaging workshop by Dr. Abha Rishi on monitoring, evaluation, and benchmarking practices for incubators, equipping the incubator managers with tools and techniques to develop monitoring systems and benchmark their performance against peers.
This enriching experience empowered incubator managers with practical knowledge and strategies to drive success in their ecosystems.
